Organisers of the event made the announcement they were "heartbroken" to share their decision.
"The decision was made after careful consideration, with the health and safety of everyone visiting and involved in the festival, remaining our top priority," the committee said.
The inaugural event was expected to run in April 2020, however due to the onset of the pandemic, organisers were forced to postpone the event to 2021.
However the event will now run on April 9 and 10 in 2022 and the committee is working nine to five to make it a success.
The two-day family event has a massive line-up and will celebrate all things Dolly.
The program will include live music, a street parade, family-friendly events and stalls.
The committee are encouraging people to dress as Dolly, or Kenny, and come along for a weekend away with a group of friends or the the kids, to help shake off the drought and COVID blues.
