Throw in a line and you may well catch dinner at any of the beaches along the North Coast, a great holiday destination.

Towns include Port Macquarie, Byron Bay, Coffs Harbour, Lismore and Newcastle.

Attractions

Swim with dolphins, ride a camel along Town Beach at Port Macquarie and trek along a 9kms coastal walk from Lighthouse Beach and Town Green.

Coffs Harbour has outstanding beaches while inland the creative hub of Bellingen is a lovely day out.

The Dorrigo Rainforest Centre provides lots of information and take a guided walk to Crystal Shower Falls.

Mereweather Beach near Newcastle is great for swimming and Shoal Bay is known for its whale watching, wildlife encounters and beaches.

Newcastle has Noah’s On the Beach, the Mantra Observatory and Rydges Newcastle which are all close to the beach.

Coffs Harbour has several resorts, camping grounds and family friendly Breakfree Anuka Beach resort is good value.

Port Macquarie’s suggested stays include Sails Port Macquarie by Rydges and Flynns on Surf Beach Villas. At Byron Bay go up market at Rae’s On Wategos and beachfront Halcyon House is a stunner at Cabarita Beach.
