Illawarra

The lookout from the Illawarra Escarpment across Wombarra and the northern Illawarra plains has been known to leave people breathless – it’s a magnificent sight.

It is a coastal region situated immediately south of Sydney and north of the Shoalhaven encompassing the cities of Wollongong, Shellharbour and the town of Kiama.

Shellharbour has great swimming, snorkelling and surfing.

Cycle or stride out along the Lake Illawarra Art Trail that celebrates the area’s Aboriginal history and features artworks from local artists.
