Disney Cruise Line might be heading to Australian shores.

Jeff Van Laneveld, the line’s Vice President of Marketing & Sales International, told Cruise Weekly: “Australia and New Zealand are big cruise markets with a strong affinity for Disney, so naturally that’s going to be a big focus for us going forward.

“We will need to expand beyond our current itineraries and markets.”

Disney currently has four cruise ships with two more set to arrive in 2024 and 2025 respectively, but the vessels mainly sail in the Northern Hemisphere.

Fans of Star Wars, Marvel and Pixar movies can look forward to a Disney theme park at sea, although the cruises are known to be pricey.

Mr Van Laneveld’s comments arrive at an interesting time, with Disney Cruise Line registering its parent company, Magical Cruise, with ASIC and speculating that Disney may homeport a ship in Sydney.
