A 160-kilometre trail through the Grampians is set to finally open after a $33 million investment.

The mostly grade 4 hike takes 12 nights, staying at 11 bookable campsites. Parks Victoria’s Tammy Schoo said the project was a challenge with helicopters brought in to drop materials into the remote areas of the park.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for people to … walk the walk in a respectful way,” she said.
