This gorgeous town in the Central West of NSW is renowned for many things: from a historic town centre with chic boutiques to a stellar food and wine scene. But with the launch of 15 stylish eco tents at Parklands Resort, Mudgee can add another feather to its cap.

Built using recycled materials that provide natural thermal insulation resulting in reduced environmental footprint, the tents are known as Mudgee Retreats and boast four-poster beds, modern ensuites and private outdoor decks - perfect for soaking up sweeping countryside views. Set on a 12-hectare property, the pet-friendly tents (yes, you can take Fido with you!) are only a few minutes' drive to the centre of the town, but with an onsite tennis court, indoor swimming pool, a fitness centre and heated spa, you may never want to leave the resort. Oh, and did we mention the gourmet food hamper? Packed with continental breakfast and a selection of local treats, it's included in the package. parklandsresort.com.au

My all-time favourite destination is ... New York. You can drop a pin anywhere in Manhattan and start walking in any direction, and the sights and sounds of the city that never stops will begin to stimulate all your senses in an instant.

Next on my bucket list is … Scandinavia - at the peak of summer, when the sun almost never sets.

My top travel tip is … If you’re flying to Sydney from anywhere in the world, pick a window seat far from the wing on the left-hand-side of the aeroplane. If the weather gods and flight path align, you’ll have the most incredible views of the Sydney Harbour and Opera House.
