Kicking off the Easter long weekend in the worst possible fashion, a 70-year-old man was airlifted to Westmead hospital after suffering a gunshot wound to his right shoulder.

The incident took place at a property along Campbells River Road at Black Springs, which is about 20 kilometres south of Oberon.
A NSW Police statement indicated the 70-year-old victim is in a critical condition.
What happened?
About 8.50pm on Good Friday, emergency services responded to reports of a man being shot on a rural property.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 70-year-old man for a gunshot wound to the right shoulder.
The man was then airlifted to Westmead hospital in a critical condition.
Officers from Chifley Police District have been informed the man and his 47-year-old son were securing their firearms on the back of a utility when a round discharged from the younger man's weapon.
Both men had been shooting game on the property, NSW Police indicated.
A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the incident has commenced.
