The driver who died when a vehicle crashed and caught fire over the weekend has been formally identified.

Emergency services were called to Canowindra Road around 7.45am on Easter Sunday, April 20 after reports of a crash at the scene.
Officers attached to Chifley Police District and NSW Ambulance Paramedics attended and found a Toyota had left the roadway, crashed and caught fire.
Rural Fire Service NSW officers extinguished the fire, however the driver died at the scene. Police have since confirmed the driver was a woman in her 20s.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash commenced.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

The road reopened late on Sunday afternoon.
