Enter Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL). It's unveiled a host of its close-to-home cruise itineraries across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific. And they're all aboard its stylish vessel, Norwegian Spirit, that's returning to Australian waters for its third season.

Reimagined from bow to stern as part of a $US100 million revitalisation, and designed with adult cruisers in mind (there's no kids' club), the sophisticated, yet welcoming, ship offers the best of NCL's exceptional fleet and a refined experience you typically don't get when cruising close to home.

Norwegian Spirit will whisk guests away on a series of immersive 11 to 14-day itineraries between Sydney and Auckland from December through to April 2026, cruises that take in everything from pristine beaches to magnificent fjords, from charming seaside villages to cosmopolitan cities.

From April 2026, she will reposition to the South Pacific for a season of leisurely journeys to magical destinations including Papeete, Moorea, Fiji, Bora Bora and Nouméa.

Returning to local waters in the summer of 2026/2027, she'll then offer a fresh series of close-to-home sailings ranging from four to 14 days between Sydney and Auckland. Highlights include five convenient round-trip Sydney cruises, and NCL's first-ever four-night Tasmania Taster cruises - the perfect grown-up getaway.

"Norwegian Spirit and her carefully curated itineraries offer guests a truly memorable cruising experience - even if you're only aboard for an extended long weekend," said Ben Angell, Vice President and Managing Director of NCL Asia-Pacific.

"She's designed with a more refined cruising style in mind - no waterslides, no kids' clubs, just premium without pretension. Think quieter decks, elevated dining, and a relaxed onboard atmosphere. With a high guest-to-staff ratio for personalised service and the welcoming feel of a smaller ship, guests can enjoy a more enriching way to uncover some of the region's most underrated destinations."

While Norwegian Spirit carries fewer than 2,000 guests, she is still packed with features that appeal to grown-up cruisers, including the adults-only Spice H20 pool retreat, and the doubled-in-size Mandara Spa, featuring a Thermal Suite with steamroom, sauna, and heated-tile loungers.

With 14 dining options onboard - from the classic French flavours of Le Bistro to contemporary Italian at Onda by Scarpetta - guests can look forward to deliciously dining their cruise away.
