The Narromine Shire Council have held an information forum regarding the Narromine levee bank augmentation, after forum submissions and feedback requested from residents.

Documentation and maps are available in relation to the Narromine levee bank augmentation. These documents include the Risk Management Study and Plan (2009), the Narromine River Bank Levee Feasibility Study (2013), the Levee Impact Assessment, the Community Forum Presentation (2018), the SMEC Narromine Town Levee Community Presentation and the Proposed Levee Bank Alignment.

“A number of options have been presented to Council and the current option being considered is what has been deemed the most cost effective and efficient manner in which to protect the town,” said Narromine Shire Mayor Craig Davies.
“The current Proposed Levee Bank Alignment is a concept plan that needs to be considered by residents.”
“In relation to the houses along Warren Rd we had two options; drive concrete slabs into the ground between houses and the river or choose an alternative that would allow water to run to a levee away from the river to be diverted downstream.”

“The final decision on whether this initiative goes ahead rests with the Council and the public have every opportunity to submit objections or support for the levee,” he said.
The council is inviting all residents to have their say in regards to the Narromine levee bank augmentation.
