Over 400 bidders and local companies who attended recent local briefings are being encouraged to register their expressions of interest by Friday, August 31, 2018.
The sessions were conducted in Parkes, Narromine and Dubbo by preferred construction contractor INLink, a joint venture with BMD Constructions and Fulton Hogan.
ARTC NSW Senior Project Manager for Inland Rail Mark Stevens said ARTC in collaboration with INLink are determined to ensure that abundant opportunities are available for suppliers and regional businesses in the area.
“With major construction work in the area due to begin in the coming months, this is an exciting time for numerous local businesses and individuals to take action and be involved in the opportunities available,” Mr Stevens said.
“We expect over 200 people to be employed to construct the Parkes to Narromine section of Inland Rail. In addition, a broad range of services will be required which we hope to procure locally as much as possible, including but not limited to concrete supply services, transportation, fencing, earthmoving, drainage, electrical works, concrete works, security and water bore drilling. The list is extensive,” he said.
“Ensuring we use local suppliers where we can, is top of mind for ARTC and INLink. Registering an EOI to offer services on the Parkes to Narromine section with INLink will not preclude companies or traders from bidding for work on other sections of the Inland Rail route. There will be many more opportunities as Inland Rail progresses, so we encourage local businesses of all shapes and sizes to submit their details,” Mr Stevens said.
INLink Project Director Steve Emery said INLink are committed to working with local businesses to provide opportunities to price work and build their capacity.
“We need the right people and businesses to be involved to deliver the work on-time, on-budget and with minimal disruption to the community. To achieve this, we would like to urge as many businesses as possible to take this opportunity to register their interest,” Mr Emery said.
“It doesn’t matter what sort of services you are able to offer; if you are a company, a partnership or a sole trader, it is crucial that INLink hear from you. The key aim is to maximise participation for local companies, businesses and job seekers in the area, so it is important that we have as much information as possible about the skills and experience available from the local area.
“If you are interested in being a part of this exciting project please ensure you contact our Project Manager via email, mark.goulevitch@bmd.com.au by Friday, August 31, 2018 with your contact details and business capabilities,” Mr Emery said.
Once an EOI has been registered in the procurement system, bidders will be contacted when a request for pricing (RFP) related to their particular business service is issued from INLink.
Two main site offices to service the project will be opened soon in Parkes and Peak Hill. The offices will complement the recently launched Inland Rail Community Working Hub in Parkes.
